What does Watergate mean to you?

Over 50 years later, students are still captivated by the Watergate Scandal. We welcome writers to explore what the Watergate era means to you in your work - in whichever way you see fit. Potential themes are open but not limited to Watergate, journalism, media studies, the 1970s, and more. Submissions are open to students and educators in the US and abroad.

What kind of work do we accept?

We accept research papers, personal essays, and other written works that help express your answer to our central question. Submissions may range from 400-2,000 words (flexible). You are welcome to submit more than one essay.

Submissions are open from now until the first day of summer, June 21. We hope to kick of the second Watergate Summer with your words of inspiration and enthusiasm.

If selected, your essay(s) will be published on www.watergatenation.com.

Though we cannot offer monetary awards for publication, writers will receive an award package of Watergate memorabilia.

It is our hope to edit and publish as many of your responses as we can. All applicants will be notified by July 4th.

How do I submit my writing?
